About

Find out about the new St Andrew

The Saint Andrew’s Centre is run by St Andrew’s Church, Histon and represents a significant investment in the community principally by the members of the Church.

Our vision is for it to be a place where we can serve our local community and engage in mission and ministry to the people of our village.

We welcome many different groups to who regularly use the different facilities in the building.

The new Centre has a long history, it has emerged from the Church Halls which in turn started as a school and has now moved into an exciting new phase.

Solar panels installed on the roof of Hall 1

The Saint Andrew’s Centre now generates power using solar panels which were installed in October 2019 on the roof of Hall 1. The panels can generate up to 10.3kW, which means that typically all of the generated power will be used. They are predicted to produce about 8750kWh over the course of a year which could save around 3000kg of CO2 over a year.

In May 2022 St Andrew’s became an accredited Living Wage Employer. Our Living Wage commitment will see everyone working at in the Café, Centre and Church receive a minimum hourly wage of £9.90 in the UK, significantly higher than the government minimum for over 23s, which currently stands at £9.50 per hour.
